NWSA junior wins composition contest

Skylar McKee

Skylar McKee, a junior at Northwest School of the Arts, won a song composition contest at the Alternative Impulse III New Music Festival at Winthrop University. The contest was adjudicated by Dr. Daniel Weymouth of SUNY Stony Brook. Skylar entered a choral piece he composed. Skylar plays French horn in wind ensemble and made All-District Band on that instrument. He plans to attend college as a music composition major.
