One person was injured early Monday during a shooting outside a club at the NC Music Factory north of Charlottes uptown area.
The shooting was reported about 2:45 a.m., Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say.
According to initial reports, an argument broke out among two men in the parking lot near the Label, one of several clubs at the entertainment venue off North Graham Street. During the dispute, according to witnesses, one man fired a shot at another man, wounding him in the abdomen.
The victim was taken to Carolinas Medical Center but is expected to recover, according to officers.
The alleged shooter drove off. Police spent several hours talking to employees and others who were in the vicinity of the shooting. They concluded the investigation shortly before 6 a.m.
There is no word about any arrests or a description of a suspect.
The NC Music Factory has more than a dozen clubs and concert venues. A check of Charlotte-Mecklenburg police crime statistics shows only one shooting incident in the area since last summer. In a July 13 incident, two men were shot in the leg outside Club Halo.
