A man riding a bike was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after he was struck by an 18-wheeler, according to police.

Police have not released the man’s name, or given an update on his condition. It was unclear Monday afternoon whether the driver of the truck would face criminal charges.

Police spokesman Officer Keith Trietley said the driver remained on the scene of the collision as police arrived.

The collision happened at North Davidson Street and Jordan Place. That’s about a mile north of uptown near Amelie’s bakery.

Police crime scene investigators responded to the scene, as well as detectives from the crash investigation team.

The road was briefly closed but is now open.
