A bicyclist injured Monday morning when he collided with a tractor-trailer in the NoDa neighborhood of north Charlotte has died, police say.
The victim was identified as Woodrow Franklin Jr., 47. He had been taken by Medic to Carolinas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries but died later in the day.
Police say Franklin was riding his bicycle on Jordan Place shortly before 10 a.m. Monday, when, according to witnesses, he made a sudden left turn from the right side of the road. He went into the path of a Freightliner truck that was traveling in the same direction and was hit.
The 41-year-old driver of the truck was not injured.
