New American Girl book and events for parents & daughters

American Girl
-

We all know what a tough time puberty can be, especially for our daughters. American Girl has been a reliable resource for helping both parents and children better understand how to navigate the ups and downs of the changes they experience with books and stories that address every question and issue that may arise.

They recently introduced The Care & Keeping of You 2: The Body Book for Older Girls, which dives deeper into the physical and emotional changes of girls ages 10 and up and provides thoughtful, age-appropriate advice on how to take care of themselves from head-to-toe as they grow and develop.

Written by Cara Natterson, M.D., a board-certified pediatrician and author of several books on children’s health and safety, The Care & Keeping of You 2 provides girls with even more information about their changing bodies, from the keys to healthy growth and hygiene basics to an in-depth look at the physical transformations girls face during puberty. Girls will also learn how to deal with the range of emotions they’re experiencing in a constructive way, while also getting the tools they need to build their confidence and adopt positive self-images. And, most importantly, The Care & Keeping of You 2 guides girls on how to talk to their parents or other trusted adults about their questions and worries about growing up.

In honor of the release of the latest book, local Barnes & Noble stores are hosting fun parent-daughter workshops based on the book for girls ages 8 and up.
