Report: Man robbed Charlotte convenience store

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police Tuesday were searching for a suspect who used a handgun to rob a local convenience store.

A 21-year-old cashier at Simon’s Mart in the 6300 block of The Plaza was forced to give an undisclosed amount of money to a suspect who entered the store armed with a silver gun, a police report shows.

The robbery happened around 10:30 p.m. Monday. After receiving the money from the cash register, the suspect ran away from the store on foot.

No one was injured during the incident.

Police had not made any arrests Tuesday.
