Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have released surveillance photos to try to find a man accused of using a handgun to rob a local convenience store earlier this week.
The robbery occurred around 10:30 p.m. Monday at the Simons Mart in the 6300 block of The Plaza. A 21-year-old cashier said a man entered the store armed with a silver gun and demanded money.
After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect ran away from the store toward Barringer Drive, police said.
Police released four photos Wednesday from surveillance cameras at the store. The suspect was described as a black male who is between 5-foot-4 and 5-foot-8 with a beard, and wearing a light grey zip-up hoodie and ball cap and dark blue jeans.
