A portion of Rama Road in Charlotte will be closed for much of Thursday so crews can do work near a CSX Railroad crossing.
The 1800 block of Rama between Donegal Drive and Charing Place will be closed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, according to city transportation officials. Drivers can use Randolph, Sharon Amity or Monroe roads as an alternate route.
The city said access to residences in the area will be maintained and the closure won’t disrupt bus service.
Earlier this year, CSX made repairs to its railroad crossing in the area. On Thursday, crews will be repaving the roadway approaches to the crossing. The railroad company, and not the city, controls the road closure at the crossing.
