STATESVILLE -- Iredell County authorities say they are looking for a Mooresville man in connection with an alleged domestic assault case.

The sheriff’s office says there is an outstanding warrant for Rico Lamonte Torrence, 29. Authorities say Torrence has two previous convictions for domestic assault.

Authorities say they received a call Feb. 25 from a Statesville-area woman who said she had been assaulted and burned with a cigarette. The woman said the man responsible for that alleged assault also knocked a 3-year-old child out of her arms.

The man, later identified as Torrence, fled before deputies arrived.

Anyone with information about Torrence’s whereabouts is asked to call 911, or contact the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office at 704-878-3100. Information also can be phoned to Iredell Statesville Crime Stoppers, 704-662-1340.
