The winner: Use a cardboard wine box with the inserts to store food storage boxes, like foil and plastic wrap. It keeps them in one place and easy to grab. A good idea if you are short on storage place and/or drawers. Carol Spencer, Charlotte
Lint roller to the rescue
When I finish cleaning and dusting a room in my house, I’ve always been frustrated because everything looks great except for the dust and/or animal fur that stays on my lampshades. I’ve finally found a solution. I just use a lint roller over the shade and it tackles both the dust and fur! Dawn Zangara-Regan, Charlotte
Cool freezer space tip
Instead of using containers that take too much room in the freezer, I put soups, sauces, etc., in freezer bags. (Fold down top of bag for easy filling.) Lay bags flat in freezer. After they are frozen, stand the bags up, like a file folder. I have now doubled my freezer space. Angela Doescher, Clover
