Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have arrested a man they say robbed a woman as she was getting into her car in the parking deck of Carolinas Medical Center.
Joshua Aaron Wilson, 19, faces charges of robbery with a dangerous weapon and felony conspiracy after detectives received a tip that the Jeep Cherokee used in the crime was at a residence on Taylor Drive.
Police and CMC officials earlier this week released surveillance photos of suspects wanted in the robbery and the Jeep they believed was the suspect vehicle.
The woman was robbed at gunpoint sometime before 1 a.m. in the parking deck off Scott Avenue in the Dilworth neighborhood.
Two men approached her and demanded personal items before running off, police said. The victim was not injured.
Police determined Wilson was the owner of vehicle and arrested him Wednesday after he voluntarily turned himself in for questioning.
Detectives are currently working to identify the second suspect involved in the robbery and more arrests are pending. Anyone with additional information concerning this case is asked to contact the Crime Stoppers tip line at 704-334-1600.
