Uptown restaurant promises free food Friday

Uptown’s Celeb’s Restaurant and Lounge intends to give away hundreds of free meals Friday afternoon as part of an effort to give back to the community – and promote its menu.

Chef Henry Adams said all patrons from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday will be given a free three-piece chicken dinner, as long as the food lasts. The menu includes the option of baked or fried chicken, a sweet potato biscuit, two “fried macaroni and cheese bites” and Adams’ special peach barbecue sauce.

The restaurant is located at 445 West Trade Street near Graham Street, at the site of the old Presto Bar and Grill.
