Matchup to Watch

Kevin Durant vs. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist: The Bobcats rookie faces a huge test against one of the NBA’s top all-around scorers.

Observations

• The Bobcats’ last game against the Thunder – a 114-69 thumping in Oklahoma City in November – was the widest margin of defeat in franchise history.

• The Bobcats owe their second-round pick in June to the Thunder to complete the Byron Mullens deal – one of the best trades in Bobcats history.

• The Thunder had a nationally televised game against the Knicks Thursday night in New York City.

Tap-ins

• Backup point guard Ramon Sessions was diagnosed Thursday with a left knee sprain (medial collateral ligament). Sessons (14.4 ppg), the team’s second-leading scorer, is expected to miss the next two to four weeks due to the injury.

• Mullens has been limited of late with a sore right knee.

Did you know?

The Thunder’s two turnovers versus the Lakers tied an NBA record for fewest giveaways ever. That’s only happened three times in the league’s history.
