SALISBURY -- A Texas woman has been arrested by Rowan County authorities on drug charges, the sheriff’s office says.
Korea Airel Davis, 20, of Houston, was charged Thursday with felonious possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver marijuana, plus maintaining a vehicle for sale or delivering of marijuana.
She is jailed under $10,000 bond, authorities say.
Deputies stopped Davis, who was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu northbound on Interstate 85, for what they say was a valid traffic infraction. A deputy said he smelled marijuana and saw several bundles of money on the passenger seat. The deputy said Davis, who said she was traveling to Virginia, admitted to smoking marijuana in Georgia.
During a search of the vehicle, deputies say they found 47 grams of high-grade marijuana packaged for sale, in small plastic bags. They also reported finding drug paraphernalia and $1,950 in cash.
