Five of the top NFL free agents on the market that the Carolina Panthers aren’t interested in/can’t afford:

WR Wes Welker: The longtime favorite target of Tom Brady said he’ll test free agency before deciding on his future with New England.

WR Mike Wallace: Known as the fastest wide receiver in the league, Pittsburgh’s Wallace should get a big contract this offseason.

RB Steven Jackson: The three-time Pro Bowler has rushed for more than 1,000 yards in each of the last eight seasons with the Rams.

T Jake Long: The Miami tackle has had his share of injuries in his short career, but when healthy he’s one of the best in the league.

DE Cliff Avril: Possibly the best pass rusher on the market, the Lions’ Avril racked up 9.5 sacks last season. Jonathan Jones
