More Information

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating a shooting Monday morning that left one man seriously injured.

The shooting was reported shortly after 10 a.m. in the 7100 block of Marlbrook Drive, near Coach Hill Lane. That is in the Idlewild Farms neighborhood, between Idlewild and Albemarle roads.

Police believe that the incident is related to a robbery call for service that happened a short time before the shooting. Hickory Grove Division officers responded to that call for service at the 5900 block of Farm Pond Lane.

Police believe the victim from the shooting witnessed that robbery and found the suspect vehicle on Marlbrook Drive. Soon after, the suspect shot the victim and fled the scene in a black, 4-door Honda Accord with South Carolina tags.

Police said Monday afternoon that the man had been taken to Carolinas Medical Center and is currently listed in stable condition.

Detectives are canvassing the neighborhood to determine whether there are any witnesses to this incident. The investigation is in its early stages. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
