Pedestrian struck by car south of uptown

One person was taken to the hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries Monday night after being struck by a vehicle in the Cherry neighborhood just south of uptown.

Authorities have not identified the person, who was struck at Luther Street and South Torrence Street.

The victim was taken to Carolinas Medical Center. It was unclear if any charges would be brought against the driver of the vehicle.
