ROCK HILL Neighbors are curious about the new car parked outside Vandra Patel’s house in Rock Hill. A yellow sports car with black racing stripes is hard to ignore.
The Rock Hill resident admits she doesn’t mind admirers of the Chevrolet Camaro she won entering non-winning tickets into the Lottery’s Muscle Car Money Second-Chance Promotion. Out of more than 255,000 entries received, Patel’s $5 Muscle Car Money ticket was selected to win the car. “When we tell how we won it, we hear how lucky we are,” Patel laughed. “Can I trade with you?” is another common remark. For Patel, the funniest thing has been her kid’s reaction to the car. “My 13-year old daughter actually asked us to drop her off at school,” said Patel. Patel is one of five South Carolina Education Lottery winners selected to win a Muscle Car. Winners in Columbia, Lugoff, Simpsonville and Graniteville are enjoying new cars too.
