The city of Charlotte is holding a public reception April 9 for incoming city manager Ron Carlee.

Carlee is expected to start working in the city on April 1.

The reception is planned for 4 to 6 p.m. April 9 in the lobby of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center, 600 E. Fourth St. in uptown.

Mayor Anthony Foxx and members of the Charlotte City Council will be among those in attendance.

Carlee was introduced as the city’s new manager in late February. He comes to the city from Arlington, Va. where he most recently worked as chief operating officer for the International City/County Management Association.

Prior to that he spent nearly three decades with the Arlington government, including eight years as county manager.

Carlee replaces Curt Walton, who retired last December. Assistant City Manager Julie Burch has been serving as interim manager.
