Chinese manufacturer to set up headquarters in Charlotte

A Chinese manufacturer of print finishing equipment plans to set up its U.S. headquarters in Charlotte, officials announced Thursday.

Masterwork USA Inc. said it also plans to add 30 more jobs to its operations over the next five years. The company currently employees four people.

The offices will be located in the Coffey Creek Business Park in southwest Charlotte.

Masterwork is headquartered in Tianjin, China and makes multiple printing products, including Heidelberg cylinder foil stamping presses; die-cutting machines; platen foil stamping machines; and automatic folding and gluing machines. The company currently sales products in 11 counties, officials said.

“As our sales increase in the U.S. market, there is a need for us to have a presence here,” Masterwork chief executive officer Madam Li Li said in a news release. “It allows us to be close to our customers. Communication is more efficient, customer service is more hands on and we are more immersed in this market than ever.”
