Jorge Sosa

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are looking for a car break-in suspect who cut off his electronic monitor early Friday.

Police said Jorge Luis Sosa, 21, was last seen on Southhampton Road in the Steele Creek area.

Sosa was arrested in December after being accused of breaking and entering a motor vehicle. He was released from jail in early January and ordered to wear an electronic monitor.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police currently oversees nearly 400 people with electronic monitors. Sosa is the seventh offender to cut off his monitor so far this year, but the six others have already been taken into custody.

Anyone with information on Sosa’s whereabouts is asked to call the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team at 704-336-8228 (VCAT) or dial 911.
