CMPD: 1 airlifted after crash on Youngblood Road

Observer staff report

One person has suffered life-threatening injuries after a serious wreck early Friday evening in the Steele Creek area.

The patient was airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center for treatment, according to police and MEDIC.

Police were called to the 17000 block of Youngblood Road around 6:17 p.m. Friday.

Few details about the crash were immediately available, but Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police’s Highway Interdiction Traffic Safety unit was called to the scene, according to a police spokesman.
