Union County commissioners have approved a $58,152 for a Monroe manufacturer that is considering a $5.5 million expansion.
The grant is for Goulston Technologies, which is deciding whether to produce a new line of specialized fiber lubricants at its Monroe facility. Such a move would mean an investment of $5.5 million in equipment and machinery, according to the county.
The city of Monroe already has approved an incentive grant not to exceed $124,860 over five years. Goulston has not indicated when it will make a decision on the expansion, the county said. The company has been in Monroe since 1968.
