More Information

  • Win a ‘Clever’ T-shirt!

Check out our cool new prize. This Clever T, the work of Observer designer Jason Benavides, carries the famed logo on the front and reader tips on the back.

To win one, send your clever tip, address and phone to clever@charlotteobserver.com or Home Section, Charlotte Observer, P.O Box 30308, Charlotte, NC 28230-0308. Note: There’s just one winner a week.

The winner: When you get a lipstick to go with certain colors, sometimes it’s hard to find that same lipstick shade when the tube has a solid top. I’ve started putting a colored marker dot of the color I want to match on top of the tube. Now I don’t have to keep opening lipsticks. You can put a pink, red, orange dot for the color you’re trying to match. Nancy Domokos, Mount Holly

Keep emergency contact info in wallet

Instead of just keeping a list of your medications on my computer, I print a credit card-sized copy and laminate to keep in my wallet. I also include my emergency contact, primary care physician and allergies. I put my husband’s information on one side and mine on the other, make two copies and we each keep one in our wallet.
