Monroe High student faces charges after gun brought to school

Monroe police expect to file charges against a teen who they say brought a gun to Monroe High School earlier this week.

Officials were notified Wednesday that a gun may have brought a weapon onto the high school on Monday. Further investigation revealed the information to be true, police said.

It is not immediately known if any threats were made.

The name of the student, who is a juvenile, has not been released.
