No injuries in west Charlotte fire

No injuries were reported in a west Charlotte house fire early Thursday afternoon.

The fire broke out sometime around 1 p.m. at a single-story wood-frame house in the 1100 block of Opal Street. That is in a neighborhood off Tuckaseegee Road.

Firefighters found smoke and flames coming from the house when they arrived. Officials say it took the crew of 27 firefighters only 10 minutes to bring the blaze under control. Most of the damage appeared to be confined to the roof.
