One person was in the hospital Thursday after being struck by a car in east Charlotte. The pedestrian was struck on North Sharon Amity Road near Amity Pointe Road around 5 p.m.

Emergency crews took the victim to Carolinas Medical Center’s university campus with potentially life-threatening injuries, Medic said.

Few details about the incident were immediately available.
