CMPD: Student brought loaded semi-automatic pistol to high school

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have arrested a 17-year-old Olympic High School student after he brought a loaded semi-automatic pistol onto campus.

A school resource officer searched Kaderius Berry at the school around 8:30 a.m. Friday and found the gun, police said.

Berry has been charged with felony possession of a firearm on educational property and two misdemeanors – possession of a handgun by a minor and carrying a concealed weapon.

He is in custody at the Mecklenburg County jail on $5,000 bond.
