CMPD investigates robbery of Charlotte Wendy’s

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police Friday were searching for a suspect wanted in the robbery of a Charlotte Wendy's.

The unidentified man entered the Wendy’s at 5801 North Sharon Amity Road around 8:30 p.m. Thursday with a handgun and forced several employees to go to the manager’s office, police said.

He stole an undisclosed amount of money from the safe, which he had demanded the manager open for him, according to a police report.

The suspect then fled out the rear door.

The canine unit responded to the robbery but did not find the suspect.
