CMPD arrests breaking and entering of a motor vehicle suspect

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle case over the weekend.

Kyle Ray Holbert was arrested and charged with breaking and entering of a motor vehicle and resisting a public officer.

About 12:30 a.m. on March 23, officers were dispatched to a larceny from auto call for service in the 1200 block of Thomas Avenue.

A witness said he saw a suspect break into a car in the area. When officers arrived, they noticed a man who matched the description of the suspect. When they approached the man, he ran, police said.

Police arrested Holbert after a short pursuit on foot.
