Third suspect arrested in west Charlotte shooting

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have arrested a third suspect in connection with the murder of Ronny Steele.

Police arrested Ryan Kendell Andrews, 24, and charged him with murder. After questioning, Andrews is expected to be taken into the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.

Steele, 57, died of a gunshot wound Feb. 25 at a residence in the 2800 block of Wedgefield Drive, off of Old Steele Creek Road, in the Wingate neighborhood east of Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

Already charged with murder and arrested in the case are Reuben Timothy Curry, 28 and Charlie Edward Snowden, 29.
