DENVER -- Authorities in Lincoln County are investigating a series of vehicle break-ins last weekend in the Denver area.
All of the victimized vehicles were unlocked, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
The thefts apparently took place late Saturday night or early Sunday and involved eight households. Six of those were in the 6900 to 7200 block of Executive Circle, and two others were in the 1600 block of Connemara Court, deputies say.
In all, owners reported four GPS system, a number of credit cards, a small amount of change, and a cell phone stolen.
Deputies say the thefts are a reminder to residents about the need to lock vehicles always. In addition, residents should not leave possessions in the vehicles, as items such as GPS systems, cell phones and laptop computers are popular targets among thieves.
In addition, deputies say, don’t leave valuables under the seat, because thieves know where to look.
Anyone with information in the case is asked to call the sheriff’s office, at 704-732-8050.
