Minnesota suspect arrested in Cornelius

A man who had been the subject of a multi-state search was captured Thursday in Cornelius, federal officials say.

Agents from the Violent Offender Task Force with the U.S. Department of Justice took Tia Paul Lor into custody without incident, federal officials say. He was found in the 20000 block of Norman Boulevard and arrested with the help of Cornelius police.

U.S. marshals say Lor was wanted for failure to register as a sex offender, but they say he also is a person of interest in a homicide Sunday in Brooklyn Park, Minn.

He had been sought by the U.S. Marshals North Star Fugitive Task Force and the police department in Brooklyn Park. He is being held in a Mecklenburg County jail, pending extradition to Minnesota.
