Morganton man charged in credit union break-in

A Morganton man was arrested Saturday after police say he broke into a credit union overnight.

Police said employees at the State Employees Credit Union on Enola Road called authorities after they found the man under a desk on the second floor of the bank. Authorities believe the man entered the bank through a broken window panel on a door.

Adam Eugene Russell was charged with misdemeanor breaking and entering and damage to real property. He was booked under a $2,000 secured bond is expected to make a first appearance in court on April 23.
