Journal honors Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools

The American School Board Journal is honoring Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools for its work developing strong principals and getting them into high-needs schools.

CMS is among 18 districts earning top honors from the journal through its 2013 Magna Awards. CMS was recognized for a grant-funded “leadership pipeline” program and strategic staffing, which offers recruitment bonuses to entice teams of effective principals and teachers to work in struggling schools.

The award ceremony will be part of the National School Boards Association annual conference this month. Read more at www.asbj.com/magna.
