Fort Mill woman dies in York County wreck

A 43-year-old Fort Mill woman was killed Friday night when her car drove off of Interstate 77 and hit a tree, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.

The wreck happened about 11:30 p.m. near the exit ramp of the weigh station in the northbound lanes at mile marker 89.

The woman, who was driving north, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the car, according to the Highway Patrol. Her car traveled up an embankment and hit a tree.

She died at the scene.

The woman’s name was not immediately available.
