Survivors honor Holocaust dead at Charlotte memorial

To mark Holocaust Remembrance Day Sunday, a series of events was held at various locations in Shalom Park in Charlotte.

The program began with the lighting of memorial candles by Holocaust survivors and ended with the recitation of the Kaddish, the Jewish memorial prayer.

In between, several workshops on everything from a discussion of the political cartoons of Theodor Seuss Geisel – better known as Dr. Seuss to a sharing of stories, recipes and food as they related to women’s lives in the concentration camps.
