German robot covering manufacturer RPS opens Charlotte sales office

A German company that makes protective coverings for robots has opened its first U.S. subsidiary in Charlotte.

The Charlotte Chamber announced Tuesday that RPS Robot Protection Systems Inc. will serve its U.S. clients from its new office in the 112 South Tryon St. building uptown. The company’s products protect robotic equipment in forges, factories and other workplaces from everything from explosions to sandblasting.

The company cited Charlotte’s low cost of living, direct flight connections and business climate as factors in its decision to come to the city.

RPS will start with one employee in Charlotte but plans to expand to three. New hires could come in customer acquisition and support.
