Police: man looked at mom, child in Kmart bathroom

By Dianne Gallagher

Rock Hill Police are searching for a man who they say watched a 29-year-old woman and her 4-year-old daughter use the restroom in a Rock Hill store.

It happened Monday afternoon at Kmart on Cherry Road. According to a police report, the woman noticed what she thought was a child looking under the stall as her daughter was using the bathroom. Once she opened the stall door, however, she saw an adult male standing in the women’s restroom.

The victims left the bathroom and called for help. Police said the Peeping Tom followed the woman and child in the store. At one point, the man reportedly said “I was in the wrong bathroom,” before leaving the store.

Neither police nor Kmart staff were able to catch the man.
