Hickory man pleads guilty in meth case

MORGANTON -- A Hickory man was sentenced to more than three years in prison Tuesday after pleading guilty on methamphetamine-related charges in Burke County.

Spencer Allen Rowell, 25, was pled guilty to three counts of possession and distribution of methamphetamine precursor materials. He was sentenced to between three years two months and three years 10 months in prison.

Rowell was arrested in August 2011. A tip had led agents from the Burke County Sheriff’s Office to investigate a mobile home on Edwards Street in Icard, authorities said. Agents said they found meth-related materials in the residence, which was near a church.
