Commissioner Ridenhour holding his first town hall meeting today

Charlotte Observer staff reports

Keeping to a campaign promise, Mecklenburg County Commissioner Matthew Ridenhour is hosting his first quarterly town meeting today at the Morrison Regional Library.

Ridenhour, a Republican serving his first term, will provide a 10- to 15-minute update on the 2011 revaluation, concealed weapons in parks and the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Advisory Board. Then he will field questions and listen to concerns. “I think it is important for elected officials to be transparent and accessible,” he said. “We in local government must actively rebuild and restore the public’s trust.”

The meeting will start at 6 p.m. and run for about an hour.
