Davidson Day junior attends leadership program in D.C.

By Reid Creager
Correspondent

Tiffany Adams, a junior at Davidson Day School, was one of 50 young women in the U.S. invited to attend a leadership training and mentorship program in Washington, D.C., April 1-4.

Tiffany participated in the ANNpower Vital Voices Leadership Forum. She received leadership and communications training, mentorship opportunities and met with internationally renowned women leaders, including former U.S. Secretary of State Hilary Rodham Clinton; Valerie Jarrett, senior adviser to President Barack Obama; and actress Kate Hudson.

Upon completion of the forum, participants were charged with developing projects to implement innovative solutions for social issues that will affect their communities. The goal is to create a ripple effect that will benefit 5,000 or more people across the country in the next year. The young women will be eligible to receive ANNpower project grants of up to $2,500 to put their ideas into action.
