Report: Suspect robbed, stabbed man with hunting knife

More Information

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police Wednesday were searching for a suspect who robbed a man on an east Charlotte street then stabbed him with a hunting knife.

The suspect approached a 30-year-old man in the 3400 block of The Plaza at about 2:27 a.m. and struck him on the side of the face with a beer bottle, a police report shows.

The suspect then took out a hunting knife, according to the report.

The victim tried to flee when he saw the knife, but the suspect stabbed him in the back, the report said, causing the man to drop $5 in cash.

The suspect stole the cash and ran away toward Herrin Avenue.

The victim was treated for his non-life-threatening injuries at Carolinas Medical Center in Dilworth.
