"Blue Line Ride" honors fallen police officers

Hundreds of riders hit the highways Saturday to honor fallen police officers-- and to help the families left behind.

The "Thin Blue Line Ride" was founded to remember two Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officers.

Jeff Shelton and Sean Clark were killed in the line of duty in 2007. Organizers say it honors those who made the ultimate sacrifice for others.

“It's very overwhelming and you feel like you have to do something, you know, paying it forward and so, we really feel the loss especially when it's one of our own," said founder John Rainer.

Forever Blue Foundation sponsors the ride, which raises funds to help families of officers killed or injured in the line of duty.
