Man in custody after Gastonia standoff

GASTONIA -- Police have taken a man into custody after a standoff during which shots were fired by a suspect.

Gastonia Police have not released the man’s name, or said what, if any charges he would face.

Police tried to take a man to a psychiatric facility, and a man in the house began shooting.

No one was injured, but officers had to evacuated a portion of South Broad Street near East 5th Avenue, on the south side of Gastonia. WCNC contributed.
