School bus wrecks in northwest Charlotte, 4 injured

A school-bus from West Mecklenburg High School was involved in a multi-car crash in northwest Charlotte Friday, sending four students to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg School bus was clipped by a hit-and-run driver just after 3 p.m. at the intersection of Brookshire and Fred D. Alexander boulevards, according to Observer news partner WCNC-TV.

Medic said no one was seriously injured in the accident.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg School officials were working to get more information about the incident at 3:30 p.m. as police searched for the small white car that fled from the scene.
