The U.S. Marshal Service arrested a Catawba man on multiple charges of child rape in a Tallahassee, Fla. Barnes and Noble Friday.
According to authorities, Nicky Lee Anderson, 41, was wanted by Catawba County Sheriff’s Office for alleged rape of a young victim on several separate occasions.
Warrants were issued in Catawba County on March 26 and the U.S. marshals were contacted earlier this week to assist in locating Anderson in Miami.
The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force received information Friday that Anderson was believed to have left Miami for Tallahassee. Within three hours, authorities spotted Anderson in a Barnes and Noble bookstore in a Tallahassee mall.
Officials believed Anderson could possibly be armed and dangerous and took Anderson by surprise as he was ordering coffee.
Amderspm was arrested without incident and authorities said he’s in custody in Tallahassee, awaiting extradition back to North Carolina.
