Town hall-style meeting on Charlotte airport

A Charlotte resident is planning to hold a town hall-style meeting Saturday at 3 p.m. at Myers Park Baptist Church to discuss the possibility of Charlotte Douglas International Airport being transferred from the city to an independent authority.

Jeremy Johnson, who said he is a concerned citizen, has invited Mecklenburg legislators and local elected officials to attend.

Charlotte City Council member Andy Dulin is helping promote the meeting.

The city of Charlotte has said it is not an official city meeting.
