Sure, Plaza Midwood’s Fern, Flavors From the Garden was a fast favorite from the start in a city desperate for vegetarian options. But when former sous chef Drew Trepanier took the reins as executive chef last fall at this veggie-centric sensation, he quickly elevated the restaurant’s farm-focused menu beyond even its initial acclaim. These days you’ll find innovative offerings at Fern including craft beer dinners and yoga specials, as well as new palate-pleasing dishes like chicken-fried tofu with sweet potato waffles and hot maple glaze or stuffed piquillo peppers with goat cheese, vegan chorizo, and quinoa.
