CMS student allegedly stabs another youth

School officials say a middle school student was stabbed by another student Monday.

The incident happened at the Ashley Park PreK-8 School in west Charlotte. Charlotte-Mecklenburg School Officials tell NBC Charlotte the victim sustained non-life threatening injuries after being stabbed with a pair of scissors.

The suspect student is in police custody, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say. The victim was transported to CMC Main.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say they are investigating.
